Co-working space provider Awfis will be launching two new centres in Hyderabad in partnership with Sandhya Hospitality. With a total of 5,500 seat capacity including the two new centres, the shared workspace company has strengthened its Hyderabad footprint by taking up space in Sandhya Techno-Raidurg and Sandhya Trade Center-Hi Tech City.
The company will create a 10,000-seat capacity by the end of calendar year 2019. Backed by marquee investors like Sequoia Capital, TTS:IO and InnoVen Capital, Awfis currently has a nationwide network of 55 centres with 25,000 seats across 9 cities and 45 micro markets.
Hyderabad, the bourgeoning market for startups in India, is gaining momentum in the shared workspace segment and is aiming to build a co-working ecosystem in a more flexible, collaborative and productive manner.
With previously existing centres in Gachibowli, Hitech and Taj Deccan, today Awfis has a total of over 5,000 seat capacity in Hyderabad. With a strong client base and demand network, Awfis has also taken rights from Sandhya Techno to exclusively market and represent other floors in the building to clients on conventional lease model.
The Awfis team in partnership with Sandhya will be curating unique experiences and engagements for the building tenants by providing state of the art amenities like Gym, Café, Creche. Awfis while managing the complete building ecosystem will transform the experience by bringing alliances, events and community focus to the occupants at Sandhya Techno.

Awfis plans to establish over 100 centres with 40,000 seats across Mumbai, NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune in the next 12 months. Currently companies such as Vodafone, Hinduja Group, Reliance, Mercedes Benz, RBI, Hitachi, ShareKhan, Zomato, Practo etc. operate from various Awfis centres. While SME sector is severely underserved, they actually form 50 per cent of Awfis clients, while 30-35 per cent are corporates.
Understanding the market potential, Awfis plans to expand its base in Tier II markets like Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Indore etc. in the next 12 months.
